Funding the charity - Seend Lye Field & Irene Usher Memorial Pavilion
The Seend Lye Field facilities cost over £25,000 per annum to operate. Running costs are only partly met through the modest annual income from the low charges for use of the facilities as we strive to keep costs affordable, particularly for Seend's parishioners.
About one-third of running costs are met from investment income, one-third from hire charges and donations and one-third from funds raised through the annual Seend Fete. We welcome gift-aided donations.
The Seend Fete normally takes place on the second Saturday in August. The annual success of the Seend Fete is entirely due to a small team of volunteers, the Seend Fete Committee, many of whom continue year-after-year, who plan and organise the events for the day. The Seend Fete could not take place without the army of volunteer helpers who, on the day, muster for breakfast at the Pavilion and just make the day happen. The same volunteer army clears everything away at the end of the day. 2019 heralded the 60th Anniversary of the Seend Fete. The fete is fortunate to enjoy the generous patronage of a number of sponsors and benefactors.
